Changing Image resolution is very easy now days; you can change the resolution or size of a picture by following ways,
The number of pixels
The file size
The number of pixels :- The Picture resolution, or their sharpness is determined by the number of pixels it has. More pixels will improve the resolution of a picture, and this will helps you to make a larger print without reducing visual quality and sharpness. But remember, the more pixels or resolution or sharpness of a picture will increase file size automatically.
The file size :- We always wanted a clear picture or picture should has maximum sharpness, but that picture takes up more space on your computer and it also takes more time to send as an e‑mail attachment. Result more pixels meansa larger file size. Usually file types, JPEG or TIFF or bmp have more in file size. For example, a picture saved as a TIFF will be much larger than the same picture saved as JPEG. It is because JPEG files or pictures can be compressed easily as compare with other types, but that will affect to picture’s visual effects.
To resize a picture using Paint please see below options,
Open MSPaint from “Start > All Programs > Accessories > Paint”
Clicks on “Paint” button, then click “Open”, then select the picture which you want to resize, and then click “Open”
Now on “Home” tab, in the “Image group”, and click on “Resize”.
In the “Resize and Skew” dialog box, select the “Maintain aspect ratio” check box so that the resized picture will have the same aspect ratio as the original picture. If “Maintain aspect ratio” check box is selected, you only need to enter the horizontal value (width) or vertical value (height). The other box in the Resize area will be updated automatically.
Once you are done with “Resize” function click “OK”.
We can “Resize” picture by selecting certain percentage. And then enter a percentage to reduce the width by in the Horizontal box or a percentage to reduce the height by in the Vertical box.
Save image using “Save As” option to keep original picture as it is.
